Job Description

The Department of Finance in the School of Business at Providence College is seeking a practitioner faculty member in the area(s) of operations management/business statistics and data analytics commencing January 1, 2018.

A practitioner is defined as a full-time, contract faculty member who has specialized and significant training, knowledge, skills, competencies and experience in a particular field relevant to a departmental or programmatic need.

Essential Duties

The Providence College School of Business is an AACSB-accredited, fast-growing, innovative institution of higher learning committed to faculty and student excellence. The ideal candidate will be committed to high quality teaching and student advising, and a successful candidate will be expected to engage in service activities for the School and the College.

The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in operations management, business statistics, and analytical decision-making. Candidates with an inclination towards data analytics and/or process and systems engineering are highly encouraged to apply.

Education and Experience Required

A Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, operations management or a related field is required.

The ideal candidate will be committed to high quality teaching and student advising, and a successful candidate will be expected to engage in service activities for the School and the College. As our student body grows increasingly diverse, experience and commitment to teaching and mentoring students from a wide range of economic, social, and cultural backgrounds is preferred.
